Choices and Consequences

All of us make choices every day. Some of them concsciously and some of them unconsciously. The choices we make have a big impact on our overall happiness. As I wrote in my former articles: „Happiness is a decision.“ I highly suggest that when you make a choice to be aware of its consequences. We have the power to choose what we want to do with our lives. And that power is one of the greatest gifts we possess.

Love and infatuation

How a wrong concept fools our understanding and behavior

I often hear people saying: “I love this or that, I love her or him.” Everybody is in love with something. But being in love with somebody is clearly a different from true genuine love, which I feel is very rare sometimes.

What people are actually saying instead of loving somebody is that they are being infatuated by them. Infatuation is something very common, something normal, which most people (including me) have experienced already. But it is definitely not love!

Brazil 2016-2017

June 15th 2016 – Sao Paulo

Arrived sound and safe early in the morning. There is a 3rd terminal now at the airport of Guarulhos and so I had to take a bus to switch terminals. Afterwards, I took the bus to Praca de Republica. There I took the metro to Butanta and then another Bus to go to my friends house. In total it took me almost 3 hours. That is Sao Paulo. One of the mega cities in our today´s world.

Daily routines and demons

Note of the author: This article is a slightly negative but personal view of daily routines. I am aware that some people love routines. Therefore, if you love your daily routine, do not read any further.

I think most people can relate to feeling stuck in a daily routine. Growing up in a first world country is a high privilege. First world countries offer a convenient lifestyle to those who live in it. However, sustaining such a comfortable life requires MONEY. In order to make money, one must be an efficient worker. An important aspect of efficiency is organization. Therefore, routines must be set in place. Routines make people better workers, better organizers, and better contributors to first-world systems. As beneficial as routines seem to be, they can also be fatal.
